About GetSetUp

GetSetUp is on a mission to help the third of the world’s population who are over 55 to learn new skills, connect with others and unlock new life experiences. Older adults have incredible knowledge to share and new mountains (literally and figuratively) to climb, but until now they haven’t had their own place to pursue their passions and continue creating, growing, and giving back.

GetSetUp is the largest and fastest growing online community of older adults who want to learn, connect and do wonderful things. Since our founding we have grown to more than 4.6 million members around the world. The platform offers live classes taught by peers who are experts in their field, social hours hosted by community members, and special events with speakers who directly address areas of interest to older adults. Classes are taught in English, Spanish, Hindi and Mandarin. We’ve grown to over 200 employees spread across the world with core teams in the U.S., Australia, India, and more sites coming soon.

Remember, you must be able to make good on that promise, so don’t offer anything unreasonable. Consumers are inundated with ads, so it’s vital that your ad catches the eye and immediately grabs interest. You could do this with a headline or slogan (such as VW’s “Drivers Wanted” campaign), color or layout (Target’s new colorful, simple ads are a testimony to this) or illustration (such as the Red Bull characters or Zoloft’s depressed ball and his ladybug friend). Promises Credible Benefit: To feel compelled by an ad, the consumer must stand to gain something; the product is often not enough. What would the consumer gain by using your product or service? This could be tangible, like a free gift. This is where your benefits come into play or a product description that sets your offer apart from the others.
